Is rebranding in your future?
First of all, let’s start with what is a brand? We have defined a brand as the experience you create for your consumers. It is how you want your business to be perceived by consumers and it is what consumers say it is through their experiences with your business. Simply put, the brand is the embodiment of all that a business is, stands for, and offers. The brand identity is, therefore, the visual representation of the brand which involves elements such as the use of colors, design, logo, type, name, symbol - all together identifies and distinguishes the brand in the consumers’ mind.” See our article on How to Develop a Winning Brand Identity.
When we talk of rebranding in this article, we are referring to redefining your brand identity (logo and brand elements) to align with your brand.
The first half of 2020 presented many challenges for all of us. It is the one time in our recent history that we can appreciate our global connectivity and the ripple effects of our actions or inactions. Many businesses have felt the impact of these challenges, some more than others. Many have also been able to grasp the opportunities presented and pivoted their businesses in order to survive. If you are among these businesses that have successfully pivoted, you are likely beginning to assess whether these are temporary or lasting opportunities to continue to invest in as part of your main operations.
How much has your business changed? Has it been a huge departure from your original business? Does it warrant rebranding? Your answer may be yes if any of these apply:
You need to redefine or reposition your business
You need to attract a new client base
You need to refresh your brand image
You need to stay relevant.
There are other reasons why you would want to rebrand your business, however, if you decide to rebrand, we can help you with the process.
If you have been with us for a while, you may have noticed that we rebranded. We took the gradual approach over a year, changing one element at a time. Some of the visible changes you will notice are our name, logo, brand elements, and URL.

Whether you decide to redesign your brand identity (logo) or not, ensure that the design of the logo meets these parameters. Otherwise, it will fail to achieve the intended goal. The design must embody these elements in order to be effective:
Functionality: It must do what it is intended to do; depict who/what the business is or does.
Originality: It can be simple or ornate but it stands out without losing its meaning.
Legibility: It is easy to read.
Scalability: It is legible across all media.
Clarity: Similar to functionality, it is not ambiguous. It is able to stand on its own.
Aesthetics: It is visually appealing to the eye.
Look for these elements when you think of your business logo. Contact us to design one for you. We can also assist you with your entire brand strategy.
