We understand that rebranding is not the only solution to all corporate identity problems. However, rebranding has its advantages. It allows a business to remodel in order to present its best image at a given time in the life of the business. It also enables a business to differentiate itself from its competitors. The return on an effective rebranding outweighs any risk involved. Nonetheless, many rebranding has been met with undesirable results when rolled out improperly. So how does one avoid rebranding pitfalls and achieve success?
For small and new businesses if the redesign involves a relatively simple task of changing a color, a typeface of the wordmark, the risk is fairly minimal. For any business, however, if the rebrand is a complete change of the brand to include a new name, new logo, new tagline, new message, and new strategy, it is worth taking measures to ensure that the rebrand is successful. Keep in mind that any change to an established brand affects the association that consumers have already built with that brand whether good or bad. Therefore, aim to improve the impression associated with the brand.
In our last post, we listed a number of reasons why businesses rebrand. You may want to start from there, Why Should My Business Rebrand, if you are not sure whether it is time for your business to brand. We have further crafted this infographic to assist you in your rebranding process, and to help you maximize its potential.
Never be afraid to rebrand if you have to, just remember to do it right and roll it out properly. If you have any questions about rebranding, feel free to contact us.
Communicating and engaging with your clients is one way of getting them interested and staying interested in your brand. If you have a brick-and-mortar business display your new brand identity on your signposts and banners. You may want to display brochures, Bifolds, or Trifolds telling your rebranded story especially if you are rebranding to broaden your appeal to a new demographic. Do not forget about your website, if you have one. If you have changed your name, you should update your URL to match your new name. Ensure that you do not damage your search ranking and Search Engine Optimization (SEO) when you rebrand. I kn0ow we recently changed our URL from casamie.com to casamiedesigns.com.
